Desert Inn

I recently stayed at this inn and had a fantastic experience! I stayed in room 131, which exceeded my expectations in every way. First off, the cleanliness was impeccable – 5 stars for sure. The room was spotless, and it was obvious that a lot of care goes into maintaining it. The comfort level was top-notch too. The bed was incredibly cozy, and I had a great night’s sleep. I was also pleased to find that the TV worked perfectly – no issues with channels or connectivity, making it easy to relax and unwind after a long day. I also appreciated the flexibility of being able to call ahead for a last-minute reservation. I called just an hour before arriving, and the staff was incredibly accommodating, which made my stay even more stress-free. Overall, a wonderful experience – I’ll definitely be coming back! The view in the small side town was amazing the next morning. Definitely worth not staying an hour east like we originally planned. Will stay every time we drive through.

I stayed one night and found this place to be perfect. Clean room. Internet. Parking right in front of the room which is helpful. If you like the ole Route 66 style roadside motels, this is your place. Friendly staff and very comfortable. It will be my Van Horn stop when I’m in the area.

Convenient location in Van Horn. Friendly office staff, clean room with comfortable bed and a great rate. I like staying at mom & pop motels like this. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again when in the area.

Great little motel in Van Horn. Keep in mind it is a ~$60/night motel, so it ain't the Ritz Carlton, but everything is clean, everything works (heater, fridge, microwave, TV has a hundred+ channels), and the owners and staff are very kind. It is located next to a tasty and modestly priced Mexican spot. I got holed up here for 3 nights during the ice storm and was more than happy to have it. Fun fact: my room had 22 outlets, I counted

this place is older so keep that in mind. it is quiet, clean and the owners and staff are soo accommodating and nice. thats what you get with a small place like this. very much worth the price. highly recommend. if retro is your thing, then this is the place.

This place is a hidden gem! Such a great value for an exceptionally clean and comfortable room while traveling. The owner was so friendly and accommodating when I had to modify the dates of my stay. I would definitely recommend this place and stay again.

Stay was fine for the price. Right next to the tracks so very very loud. We turned on white noise and drowned it out a bit. Clean and quiet.

Stayed here one night and we were glad we found this little inn. The man at the front desk was kind and helpful. This inn is unique because the entrance to the rooms are not inside the building like a hotel but outside where you park your car which makes it easy to unload and such. The room we had was a 2 bed, it was cozy, on the older side ,but it was very clean no traces of any bugs. The room had a little refrigerator, a microwave and a bucket for ice with some cups too, but no coffee maker. The bathroom design was an older style with the sink located in the main room and the toilet and shower in the bathroom. The sheets on the bed were a little coarse though. Also our door had to be locked from the inside and closed because the key couldn't lock the door but it could unlock it for some reason. An important note too is that you can hear the train from our room 128 which might bother some people. Other than that this is a decent, clean place for a great price and there is a really great Mexican restaurant right next door too! Also the morning view from the inn is really lovely!
